Griffin Ranch

Griffin Ranch was initially conceived by entertainment and media icon Merv Griffin. Griffin, one of the first to recognize the desert’s promising future, purchased a large tract of rural land over 30 years ago, before the City of La Quinta was incorporated, to be the home of his Moroccan-styled estate. In 2005, Mr. Griffin chose to turn a portion of his property into a master-planned equestrian community. Thus, Griffin Ranch was born and opened in the summer of 2007.

Like many developments, new home construction at Griffin Ranch was put “on hold” during the economic downturn. However, in the summer of 2013, Lennar (a large national homebuilder) purchased the Griffin Ranch development and will be introducing new construction homes in the spring of 2014.

At present, there are a limited number of “standing inventory homes” that were built by the previous developer, but not completed. The standing inventory homes are presently being completed by the new developer (Lennar) and will become available for sale during fall/winter 2013/2014.

New developer Lennar will continue to offer residents a high-quality, estate-like, single-family home. However, Griffin Ranch is no longer designated as an equestrian community.

Griffin Ranch, a 24-hour guard-gated community, is located in gorgeous south La Quinta, near other upscale communities such as The Madison Club, Hideaway and PGA West. The main entrance at Griffin Ranch is located on Madison Street, just south of Avenue 54.
